Everything comes from a love story and an endless curiosity.
Anne and Valentin, a couple in life and at work, in 1980 decided to create the glasses they would have liked to wear but could not find around. Since then, they continue to research, find inspiration everywhere, and propose frames with a quality and an unmatched style.
The birth of Anne & Valentin
Shortly after obtaining his diploma as an optician, in September 1980 Valentin, together with his partner Anne, opens a store with a philosophy completely different from that in vogue at the time: it is not enough for him to create glasses that would suit everyone.
Their idea is to have glasses that fit perfectly to the face of the person wearing them.
The store, which Anne personally arranges, also goes in the direction of becoming a lounge, a place where customers feel comfortable and can spend pleasant hours.
A philosophy that, however, begins to encounter obstacles, as the great success soon clashes with the scarcity of glasses available in the store. From there, the idea: why not create their own lines of glasses, instead of adapting those made by others?

Anne begins to design the first frames, and since then the brand's journey has never stopped, in fact it has only accelerated more and more.
Today, Anne et Valentin glasses are synonymous with elegance and irreverence at the same time.
French pride
“Made in France”. Since always Anne et Valentin have been based in Toulouse, in the South West of France, where they opened the first store from which the adventure began. But not only the headquarters, production has always taken place in France in some factories in the Jura mountains.

The French essence is therefore not only demonstrated in style, but also in the strong desire to show one's French identity to the world.
“For us, being ‘Made in France’ is not a coincidence, but a true moral obligation.”
From design to prototyping, to production and distribution, all activities are managed internally. Being fiercely independent is the mission that drives the brand to success even today.
The style of Anne & Valentin
The style of Anne & Valentin combines unusual colors and shapes, while never losing sight of comfort. The basic idea is that glasses, even if special, should still be considered as a part of one's face and should never weigh on the person wearing them.
Even if the inspiration is retro, the Anne & Valentin glasses are the result of continuous innovation and limitless curiosity.
“Our story evolves thanks to all the people we meet along our path: friends, clients, people we meet by chance. Inspiration can come from anyone. Everything is movement, everything is transformation, everything is color. Our curiosity is endless.”
The glasses and the collections
The glasses by Anne et Valentin are suitable for anyone who wants to dare, while still maintaining a classic and retro look.
For example in the glasses Cobain, clearly inspired by music, we have sharp cuts and a square shape with a typically nineties look but suitable for contemporary times.
The absolute innovation and desire to dare appears instead in the model Happy, with bright colors suitable for those who want to be eye-catching and feel at the center of attention.

Those who love classic glasses that do not go unnoticed will love the model Factory Twelve. Minimal, made of celluloid, the handcrafted work makes each piece a unique and unrepeatable model.
Also for those who love the classic, we recommend the men's model No Limit!, square and impactful, while for women the model O Lovely with a round and lightweight shape.
Finally, a very particular model that combines sharp lines with square and geometric shapes: Steampunk, the sunglasses for those with a strong and decisive personality.
Innovation, research, continuous inspiration, and a connection to tradition make Anne et Valentin a perfect brand for those who want to express their personality even through glasses.
You can find Anne et Valentin glasses on the our site and in our stores in Rome. Come try on the models and find the one that suits you best!
